On the steps of Palma, two experiences of the same city share a single frame.
To the right, visitors climb through the Mediterranean light, experiencing the beauty and history that drew me to Mallorca too. To the left, almost lost in shadow, a local woman sits begging.
I travel because I love discovering and photographing places like this. But travel does not exist separately from the people who call those places home.
The Cost is my acknowledgement of that uncomfortable contrast — and of my own place within it. The experiences we value as visitors can sometimes carry a price that others are left to pay.
