In the old town of Salerno stands the Chiesa di San Sebastiano del Monte dei Morti, commonly known as i Morticelli, in Largo Plebiscito.

Against a place built around faith, memory and mortality, an everyday moment unfolds outside. Faith Is Out plays with that relationship between the sacred space within and ordinary life continuing beyond its doors.

The photograph isn't intended to answer questions of belief. Instead, it observes the contrast — faith inside, life outside, sharing the same place for one fleeting moment.
